What is Labial Puff Surgery?

Unlike with a non-surgical dermal filler such as desirable there is no need for repeat labia procedures every six months.

The Labial Puff Process

Usually performed as a day case and under general anaesthetic, the fat graft procedure to enhance the labia majora is straightforward.

There are essentially two stages – the grafting and processing of the fat and then the insertion of this fat into the outer lips region.

The fat is harvested into syringes and then cleansed and prepared. 

Only a small amount can be injected at a time, but for subtle adjustments to create a labial puff this is not a concern.

The Risks with Labia Majora Procedures 

Labial puff, as with other fat transfer procedures is considered a safe process where carried out via a trained professional surgeon.

There are rare, but potential risks associated with all surgery, these including wound infection and problems with general anaesthetic rather than local anaesthetic.

Some degree of swelling and bruising is common, and there can be a short term loss of sensation in the immediate area.

Specific risks for this form of gynaecology are that the results are not even, or that they are not as visible as desired – as mentioned, this is why a surgeon such as Paul Banwell would tend towards an initial over correction, which then naturally settles down.

The grafted fat need to develop a new blood supply in the recipient site, so there is always a slight risk that the results fail to last and a repeat procedure is required.

Post-Surgery Recovery

A fat graft operation to perform labia majora augmentation is not one with a lengthy recovery period.

Typically, a short time may be required off work – between one and seven days. There will be a need to take it a little easy and exercise, especially strenuous exercise will need to be avoided.

Any pain can typically be managed with standard over the counter painkillers.

Labia Puff Costs

For this form of treatment, there are a few costs that make top the final fee.

There is the surgeon fee, in this case Paul Banwell, the hospital fee – this will vary depending on where you chose to have the surgery – and then there is a fee for the specialist services of the anaesthetist.
