What are the benefits of breast reduction surgery?
Best Breast Reduction Surgeon London

There are so many benefits to breast reduction surgery and it can be a life-changing procedure for many women and men. Our patients in London come to us for one or a combination of the following reasons:

  • Pain relief: Breast reduction surgery can instantly alleviate shoulder pain, back and neck pain that occurs as a result of very large breasts
  • Improve poor posture: Reducing the size of the breasts can have a remarkable impact on your posture and the way you carry yourself
  • Improved self-esteem and self-confidence: Larger breasts can sometimes make people insecure and may bring about unwanted attention
  • Relieve skin irritation: Large breasts can cause skin rashes or discomfort with bra straps digging in. Getting rid of some of the excess fat and breast tissue to leave you with a more manageable breast size can drastically improve your overall comfort.
  • Ability to lead a healthy lifestyle: Many patients with large breasts find that they’re unable to take part in physical activities or strenuous exercise due to heavy breasts causing pain, discomfort or even embarrassment.
  • Improved breast positioning: Paul Banwell’s breast reduction techniques can help lift your breasts into a higher position. If you have downward-pointing nipples and areolas these can be lifted into a more aesthetically pleasing position.

Are there other ways to reduce breast size other than breast reduction surgery?

If you have a moderate amount of excess tissue and only want to reduce your breast size by one to two cup sizes, you may be suitable for liposuction breast reduction.

Mr Banwell will be able to assess your suitability for liposuction and can recommend the best technique during your initial consultation. Patients who have good skin elasticity tend to make the best candidates for liposuction breast reduction.

How much does it cost to reduce your breast size in London?

Please visit our treatment page to see the breast reduction cost with Paul Banwell in London. You’ll also be able to view the gallery showing before and after photos of our patients who have had breast reduction surgery.

We advise you to take a look at the treatment fact sheet too as this has some helpful information about what to expect on your breast reduction journey.

How long is the recovery after the breast reduction procedure?

Breast reduction surgery does require an overnight stay in the hospital and you should set aside at least six weeks to fully recover. During the recovery period, you’ll see Mr Banwell several times to ensure proper healing from surgery. You will need to wear a sports bra daily for the initial first few weeks and avoid any physical activities that might prevent proper wound healing.

Does breast reduction affect breastfeeding?

Any surgery involving breast tissue can pose the risk of interfering with breastfeeding. We would advise patients with larger breasts to wait until after they plan to breastfeed to go ahead with breast reduction surgery to minimise the risks of being unable to breastfeed after the procedure.

For some patients, living with very large breasts is unbearable and they may choose to have breast reduction surgery regardless of the risks. We never judge our patients or their choices and will simply provide all necessary information so that you can come to the best decision for your personal circumstances.

Breast reduction techniques that minimise scarring

During breast reduction surgery, incision sites are made under the breast crease and around the nipple vertically in order to remove the excess glandular tissue. Although patients usually understand that scars are an inevitable feature of any cosmetic surgery procedure, Mr Banwell will make a great effort to ensure that breast reduction scars are minimised.

Liposuction breast reduction is a typically scarless procedure and Mr Banwell can assess whether you are a suitable candidate during your initial assessment.

During the time I have been in the care of Paul and the team I have been treated extremely well and very professionally, I could not have asked for better care. Paul was extremely caring and considerate throughout this time and has put me at ease during any procedures that I have had carried out. I trust his judgement completely and recommended Paul to a close family member who had a similar problem.

I am so happy with what Mr Banwell has done for me. It is clear that I was very well advised by Mr Banwell which type of implant would be best for me, as the end result I have is amazing and is completely natural. Also the care I received at the hospital was very pleasant, I actually enjoyed my stay there, and the procedure was pain free. From the overall experience I have had I would gladly recommend Mr Banwell to anyone.
